Food bank: CAN YOU HELP??

We have had a busy summer here at the food bank. For many families, school holidays present huge challenges - particularly those who rely on free school meals for their children during term time (in 2017 alone, we have provided food for 200 children in Chingford). Stocks for our food bank are dangerously low - empty shelves all round.

We are immensely grateful to the churches and schools who will be donating harvest produce in the weeks ahead.

As we are receiving around 20 referrals per week, it is unlikely that our current supplies will last until then.  Would you consider adding a couple of extra items to your weekly shop and donating them to the food bank which serves some of the most needy and vulnerable people in E4?

For example (from our "most needed" list):

  • Biscuits
  • Pasta sauce
  • Tinned meat
  • Tinned vegetables
  • Jam
  • Long life milk
  • Cereal
  • Toilet rolls
  • Female sanitary products

We do not keep a substantial supply of special dietary foods, nappies, formula or baby food - we purchase this directly according to the needs of individuals, so monetary donations are also gratefully received.

Thank you for your continued support!
